Black Galaxies defender Augustine Agyapong has cited hard luck for his outfit defeat against Madagascar in the 2023 Championship for African Nations (CHAN) opener.
Ghana who started the game as favourite suffered a 2-1 defeat against debutants Madagascar on Sunday night.
After the game, the Asante Kotoko defender who scored the Black Galaxies consolation goal says luck was not on their side when they played Madagascar.
“The game didn’t go as expected because the luck was not on our side, we played our hearts out but certain things did not go in our favour”
“We lost concentration and did not take up our chances but we hope to correct our mistakes so we can move towards our dream in our next game” he said.
Augustine Agyapong was a second half substitute in the Madagascar clash and made his presence felt by scoring a goal of the tournament contender.
