Head coach of the Black Galaxies of Ghana, Annor Walker is feeling confident about his team’s chances at the CHAN 2022 tournament despite losing the opening group game.

Ghana on Sunday opened the campaign at the tournament in a clash against Madagascar.

At the end of a very tough game, the Black Galaxies lost 2-1 to the opponent.

Speaking in a post-match interview, Coach Annor Walker admitted that his players’ performance in the first half of the game disappointed him.

He is optimistic that regardless of the opening group defeat, the Black Galaxies would still advance to the next stage of the tournament.

“I think my boys disappointed me in the first half and I take it as one of those things that happen in football. We were well prepared for this game, but minor mistakes cost us the game.

“Such things happen in football. It happens in competitions where big teams lose their opening games. We may have lost but we are certainly not out of the competition yet,” the Ghana coach stressed.

Next for Ghana, the Black Galaxies will take on Sudan in the second group game of the CHAN 2022 tournament.
