The Ghana Football Association and the Federación Mexicana de Fútbol (FMF) have jointly announced the venue for the international friendly match between the national teams of Ghana and Mexico.

The match is scheduled to take place in the month of October 2023, specifically on Saturday, October 14.

In an official statement released by the Ghana Football Association, it has been confirmed that the clash between the Black Stars of Ghana and the Mexican national team will be held at the Charlotte Bank of America Stadium.

Mexico will use the game to fine-tune their preparations ahead of the quarterfinal matches of the CONCACAF, slated for November 2023.

The Mexican team, reigning champions of the 2023 Concacaf Gold Cup, aims to maintain their winning momentum.

For the Black Stars of Ghana, the match against Mexico forms a crucial part of their preparations for the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), which is set to be hosted by Ivory Coast in 2024.

The friendly match against Mexico, along with another friendly against the United States scheduled for October 17 at Geodis Park in Nashville, will allow the Ghanaian team to assess their readiness as they gear up for the continental tournament.

Additionally, these friendly matches will serve as warm-up fixtures in the lead-up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, which are set to commence in November 2023.
