Chelsea fans are utterly convinced Eden Hazard is back to his best after watching him play for just 34 minutes. Starting in Antonio Conte’s first Premier League game, Hazard will be desperate to forget that last season ever happened. The former double Player of the Season failed to fire as Chelsea – under the stewardship of Jose Mourinho and then Guus Hiddink – could only muster a 10th placed finish when trying to defend their Premier League crown.

Hazard only managed four goals last season; his most famous, quite typically, came against fierce rivals Tottenham Hotspur to hand the title to the people’s underdogs Leicester City.

Coming up against West Ham in their league opener on Monday Night Football, Slaven Bilic handed new £20million signing Andre Ayew his debut… but it didn’t quite go to plan.

Desperately scrambling back in a bid to catch up with Hazard, Ayew pulled up lame with a muscle injury – and Chelsea fans aren’t feeling very sympathetic:
