Abdul Baba Rahman insists that the Chelsea players are well aware of how much a London derby win over Tottenham on Monday night will mean to the fans, with the defender also saying he hopes to see supporters create a daunting atmosphere.

Chelsea host their London rivals tonight at Stamford Bridge knowing that a win over Tottenham will end the north Londoners' hopes of securing their first-ever Premier League title.

Both Cesc Fabregas and Eden Hazard admitted recently that Chelsea do not want to see Spurs take their league crown from them, with the pair preferring Claudio Ranieri's Leicester side to clinch the trophy instead this term.

And Baba Rahman has reiterated a similar point after saying the Chelsea squad are fully focused on ensuring that Tottenham do not secure their first win at Stamford Bridge on Monday night since 1990.

"I was on the bench at Tottenham and also at Arsenal and I saw the atmosphere," he told Chelsea's official website.

"They were both very good. We know what it means to the fans and to the club as well. We expect a good atmosphere and very good support from the fans, as they do always."

While Baba may not have yet featured in a derby match at Chelsea, he confirms he did do so at one of his previous clubs in Germany and at international level.

‘For Greuther Furth I played against Nuremberg a couple of times. The second time was my last game for Furth and I scored two goals. It was the perfect way to say goodbye.

‘Ghana’s main rival is Nigeria – we are almost the same, we have a lot of similarities and share a lot of things. When we play against each other it’s always a tough game, and all of us really want to win it. Obi (Mikel) knows it too!’
