Following the injury of skipper Reece James, the Blues are looking at signing a replacement before the summer transfer window closes.
Sources have today revealed that after scouting several players, Chelsea FC have decided to poach Jeremie Frimpong.
The club has been impressed with the performance of the versatile player in the last two seasons and believes if he comes to Stamford Bridge he will help the club a lot.
Especially now that captain Reece James is injured, Chelsea need to reinforce that position to stand any chance of winning a trophy this season.
Although Bayer Leverkusen are open to transferring Jeremie Frimpong, the club will only sanction the move when a huge offer is received.
For now, the player is happy at the German Bundesliga club and calm in the midst of the links to Chelsea.
