English Premier League side Chelsea FC has loaned out Ghanaian International Richard Nartey to League One side Burton Albion for the upcoming 2019/2020 season.

The young player is has come through the academy system of the Blues youth system which is known for unearthing and nurturing talents. Per the agreement in the loan deal, Richard Nartey who has shown in the past that he can play any position in defense will be with Burton Albion until May 24, 2020.

The deal, however, includes a recall clause for either club in January and might return to his parent club if the need arises for his services especially when they are currently facing a transfer ban.

The 20-year-old defender made 12 appearances for Chelsea’s Premier League 2 side last season and managed to captain the U23s in five of those games as he netted once in the final game of the season against Brighton.

Richard Nartey was also a key part of Chelsea U18s treble-winning side of 2016/17 before making the step up to the Blues’ developmental squad.

He is expected to join fellow Chelsea academy product, Brad Collins who has been keeping the post for Burton since joining them on loan last season.
