Chelsea manager Antonio Conte ready to give Ghanaian Whizkid Ethan Ampadu another chance

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte says he is ready to give Welsh-born Ghanaian player Ethan Ampadu another chance after making his debut appearance for the English Champions in the Carabao Cup.

Ethan Ampadu came on for Cesc Fabregas, and made history by becoming the youngest layer to feature for Chelsea in the 2000’s, at age 17 and 6 days.

The youngster was among some of the young players who were given an opportunity to play on Wednesday, as Chelsea thrashed Nottingham Forest 5-1.

Manager Antonio Conte, who was impressed by the scoreline, was more interested by the performance of his young players and revealed after thegame he will give Ampadu a chance if the opportunity presented itself.

“I think the young players deserve the chance to play. In this case, these are three players, Ampadu, Sterling and Clarke. They deserve the chance,” he said.

“Now, they have to continue to work hard with humility and if there is the possibility to give another chance, I’m ready.”

Chelsea have advanced to the fourth round of the Carabao Cup and will next face Everton, another chance for the young players to feature.

Manager Antonio Conte might decide to give the young Ghanaian a look at again, however, the Italian could make a place for the player in a premier league squad following their minor activity in the transfer market.

Chelsea next face Stoke City in the English Premier League.
