Chelsea are currently bracing themselves to take a substantial loss in the permanent move of £21m Baba Rahman to Bundesliga club FC Schalke. In a report by the Express, the player, on loan from Chelsea at Schalke, will be making a cut-price permanent move away from Stamford Bridge this summer.
Left-back Baba Rahman has only made 11 Premier League starts since joining Chelsea for £21m from FC Ausburg in 2015. The 22-year-old Ghanian struggled to adapt to Premier League life following his move, and was sent to Bundesliga on loan as a result.
Baba Rahman faces a fight to return to fitness at present, following a knee injury gained whilst playing in the African Cup of Nations in January. Despite this however, Schalke are keen on completing a cut-price transfer to retain his services.
Schalke's sporting director Christian Heidel commented by saying: "We are in talks. It's possible that Baba will be back at Schalke next season."
