Chelsea Star Gary Cahill Admits Liverpool Will Pile on the Pressure in Title Race After Great Start

Chelsea defender Gary Cahill has admitted that Liverpool will pile on the pressure this season if they continue winning their games after an impressive start by the Reds.

Antonio Conte's Blues have put to bed an indifferent start to the season with seven straight wins, conceding just once in the process, and find themselves at the summit of the Premier League table by just one point, but just one in front of Liverpool and Manchester City as the race for the title begins.

However, speaking to Chelsea TV, via theDaily Star, Cahill has suggested that despite being concerned with their own performances, the side are wary of coach Jurgen Klopp's team and their form so far this season, and are expecting them to pile on the pressure.

"We've seen that Liverpool have got the result, so it adds that bit of pressure to us," said Cahill after their victory against Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge.

"But we delivered and the most important thing for us today was the three points against a good team so we're pleased.

Speaking more on their 2-1 winagainst Spurs, Cahill believes the side's ability to keep playing under pressure saw them come out on top: "We kept trying to play, we kept playing the way that's got us success in recent weeks.

"We don't want to invite pressure, but at the time, when a team's pressing as hard as they've pressed first half, it's difficult to do it for 90 minutes.

We felt that's what gave us a bit of success in the second half, they didn't press us as aggressively, tired legs or whatever, they've dropped off a little bit more and allowed us to start playing our football.
