A shift in formation and an emphasis on high energy play resulted in Conte's team winning all four of the Premier League games they contested in October. They scored 11 goals in the process and did not concede once, keeping four straight clean sheets.

The stunning 5-0 win over Everton immediately prior to the international break was not even considered as it actuallyoccurred at the start of November.

Having only arrived in mid July after leaving his position with the Italian national team, Conte is now the sixth different Chelsea boss to receive a coveted Manager of the Month award, following on from previous winners Claudio Ranieri, Jose Mourinho, Avram Grant, Carlo Ancelotti and Rafael Benitez.

Ranieri, Mourinho and Ancelotti each won multiple times.
