Chelsea's Eden Hazard Has a Confidence-Oozing Statement for Chasing Premier League Rivals

Published on: 27 February 2017

Chelsea wing wizard Eden Hazard has told the rest of the Premier League "you will not catch us now" as the Blues take a firm grip on the titlerace, according to theMirror.

Antonio Conte's well-oiled machine sit 10 points above second-place Tottenham as a sixth top-flight crown looks set to be simply a formality in the closing stages of the campaign.

A 3-1 win over Swansea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday added further fuel to their title-challenging fire.

Hazard, who already has one Premier League title to his name, believes the current crop of players have the maturity and class to see offthe rest of the competition.

The 26-year-old said: We are professional. We won the league two years ago so we know what to do.

We have been first for a few months, we want to stay at the top and we have to take it game after game.

The Belgian international has enjoyed a prolific campaign this season, scoring 10 goals and recording four assists in the league.

However, the key to Conte's side is that they are not reliant on Hazard, in fact, the sheer volume of reliable players producing the necessary output is frightening.

The likes of Diego Costa, Pedro Rodriguez, David Luiz, N'Golo Kante and Marcos Alonso have all cemented their importance on a regular basis in what has become a tight-knit group.

A lack of European football has certainly helped Conte build the unit we see today, but it was his revolutionary alteration to a 3-4-3 formation that spearheaded such success.

With the league virtually wrapped up, Chelsea's biggest game of the season comes courtesy of an FA Cup quarter-final against bitter rivals Manchester United.
