Chicago Fire forward David Accam insists last season was his best in MLS

Chicago Fire forward David Accam says he is delighted by his exploits in the Major League Soccer last season, and describes the 2016/17 season as his best in the United States. 

The Ghanaian winger added goals to his game, scoring 14 times and creating several assists for Chicago Fire as they reached the play offs in the MLS.

Accam combined well with the club's top scorer Nemnja Nikolic in a season where he got nominated for the Club's player of the season only to be beaten to the award by the Serbian.

The 25 year old has returned on holidays and stated on TV3's warm up show that his best season in the MLS was last term and he is delighted for the progress in his career.

“For me it was a good season, everything went well, I will say this season have been my best at Chicago Fire,” he said

“Yes I did well last season but my performance this season was great, scoring goals and making assists.

“It has been a wonderful season for me and my Club and I am very happy for that.”

Meanwhile, David Accam was linked with several European Clubs following his form at the club, with most of them from France.

The Ghanaian was sometimes left on the bench when rumours became rife he was on the verge of leaving the club due to the interest from foreign club.

He was even left out of the MLS All Star team by Coach Veljko Paunovic but stayed to produce some good performances making him one of the best players in the MLS.

Before he arrival he underwent a successful hernia surgery at the club and is expected to start training next year.
