Ghana’s Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif has spoken highly of Black Stars coach Chris Hughton, saying he is dedicated and committed to his job.

The Irish-Ghanaian took over from Otto Addo who resigned after the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The Premier League manager has been in charge of two games since taking over in February, guiding the Black Stars to one win and one draw last month.

Ghana defeated Angola 1-0 at the Baba Yara Stadium before traveling to play a 1-1 draw against the Palancas Negras in Luanda during the 2023 AFCON qualifiers.

According to the Member of Parliament for Yagaba-Kubori, the former Brighton boss is dedicated and committed to serve as Black Stars coach and has therefore rallied support for him.

“As a country, support our national team coach Chris Hughton to deliver. He is committed to his job, dedicated and has the experience and can all see he started on a good note”

“So, let’s all rally behind him and give him the maximum support to coach our national team so we can achieve the objectives we have set for ourselves as a country”

The Black Stars will be back to action in June for the remaining two AFCON qualifying games against Central Africa Republic and Madagascar.
