Chris Hughton to be maintained as Black Stars technical advisor

Former Brighton & Hove Albion manager, Chris Hughton is set to continue his role as the technical advisor for the Ghana Black Stars, footballghana can report.

The experienced tactician was earlier this year appointed as the technical advisor for the national team after the Black Stars’ disastrous showing at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

With the help of his expertise joined to that of coach Otto Addo and his two deputies, Ghana managed to overcome Nigeria in the playoff tie of the African qualifiers to the 2022 FIFA World Cup to qualify for the tournament.

Impressed with the work of Chris Hughton for the national team, the GFA has now decided to keep him at the post.

He will work with the national team in the 2023 qualifiers for the AFCON and also prepare with Otto Addo to take Ghana to the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament scheduled to be staged in Qatar.

Already, Borussia Dortmund has agreed for Otto Addo to work with Ghana’s national team until 2023.
