Chris Hughton to earn $50,000 as monthly salary as Black Stars coach

Newly appointed Black Stars coach, Chris Hughton is expected to take on $50,000 as a monthly salary, Footballghana.com understand.

Hughton has been unveiled as the head coach of the senior national team on Monday in Kumasi.

The 64-year-old has signed a year-and-a-half deal subject to performance review. Hughton replaced Otto Addo who resigned from his role after Ghana's early exit at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

However, the former Newcastle United manager will earn $50,000 as a monthly salary according to our sources.

He will be assisted by George Boateng and Didi Dramani who assisted Otto Addo. The trio worked with the Black Stars during the World Cup playoff games against Nigeria and kept their respective positions at the Mundial.

The newly assembled technical team of the Black Stars will hope to begin their new job with a win as they prepare to play Angola this month in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations [AFCON] qualifying games.

The Black Stars will host the Palancas Negras at the Baba Yara Stadium on March 23 before travelling to Luanda for the return game.

The Black Stars are joint top of Group E alongside Angola with both teams with four points after two games.

The playing body are expected to hold a training session tonight.
