Christopher Avevor played his final game for FC St. Pauli on November 21, 2020. The central defender has been out since then due to a long-term ankle injury.

The 31-year-old has now resumed training with the U23 squad.

The Kiezkicker announced this on Wednesday on Twitter. Thus, the professional should "take a fresh start for a continuous load".

The right-footed player came to Hamburg from Fortuna Düsseldorf in 2016 and has played 124 second division games in his career. However, it has been around 27 months since he last played.

Avevor's father Hope is from Ghana, while his mother Manuela is German. Christopher Avevor grew up in the small village of Felmerholz in Kiel. He has represented the Germany U21 and U19.

He started his youth career with Eckernförde IF, Eckernförder SV 2004–2006, Holstein Kiel 2006–2008, and Hannover 96 2008–2010.
