Claude Puel Claims His Side 'Lacked Concentration' in Their 2-1 Loss to Hull City

Southampton manager Claude Puel has said his side 'lacked concentration' in their 2-1 defeat to Hull.

Southampton were 1-0 up after five minutes when Charlie Austin scored a penalty to give them the lead, but two quick fire goals from Robert Snodgrass and Michael Dawson in the second half gave the Tigers the victory.

Puel was very disappointed to lose to a side who haven't won since August and feels the European game in midweek had it's baring on the players -speaking to theBBC,he said:"We lacked concentration. We lost the rhythm of the game. It is important for the future that we learn from this situation.

"After a European game it is difficult to keep the same concentration. It is a good lesson for the future.

Austin scored his eighthgoal of the season in all competitions this season; only Theo Wallcott of Arsenal has matched his record so far this season, but Austin's goal wasn't enough and Puel knows his side will have to learn from their mistakes for their next game after the international break,

"We know all the teams are difficult to play and to play every three days is difficult. We have to learn this and keep the same concentration every game."
