Clearly Morocco will be the toughest side to face in Group C – Ghana coach CK Akonnor

Ghana head coach CK Akonnor has admitted that Morocco is the toughest side the Black Stars will face in Group C at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

Ahead of the start of the delayed tournament next January in Cameroon, CAF last Tuesday officially held the draw for the tournament.

At the end, Ghana was pitted in Group C and will take on Morocco, as well as Gabon and Comoros.

Speaking to journalists in a virtual engagement on Friday, Coach CK Akonnor admits that Ghana is in a tough group.

According to the gaffer, the Atlas Lions of Morocco are the toughest side and the favourites in Group C.

“It is a group that it tough. It is a group that we need to work hard for. Morocco appear to be the opponent that will be the toughest and I thank the Ghana FA for organising the friendly match earlier this year,” coach Akonnor said.

Ghana at the end 2021 AFCON will play Morocco in its first game on Monday, January 10, 2022.
