Club Licensing Board to release report on inspected match venues of GPL clubs today

Published on: 23 December 2019

The Club Licensing Board will by close of today, December 23, 2019, release their report on all inspected match venues of the 18 Ghana Premier League clubs.

The commencement of the 2019/2020 Ghana Premier League season is upon us with less than a week away from the opening weekend. In a bid to ensure that all proper standards under the club licensing rules are adhered to, the GFA and its Executive Council have formed a Club Licensing Board to do the enforcement.

Over the last couple of weeks, the board has been going around to inspect all match venues presented by the various 18 clubs that will be participating in the upcoming season.

While it is understood that they were pleased with some stadia, they are also said to have rejected a number of the match venues.

All that will be revealed by close of the day when the Club Licensing Board release their final report today. Once it is done, it is expected that the Ghana Football Association will confirm the dates and match venues of all matchday 1 fixtures.

The season will start on the weekend of December 27-29, 2019, as the local league makes a return after over a year's absence.
