Mr. Sarfo Duku, Communications Director of Asante Kotoko, has disclosed that every transfer business the team will conduct would have to be sanctioned by coach Charles Akunnor.

The 44-year-old gaffer has been given absolute power and is fully responsible for which player comes into and leaves the club says the management member.

The former Hearts of Oak trainer penned a three-year deal with the Porcupine Warriors and he has been tasked to win the CAF Champions league within the shortest possible time and one important area the club has promised is not to interfere in player recruitment.

“You see, player recruitment is under the jurisdiction of the coach. If the coach recommends this or that player to us that he is satisfied then we shall go ahead to examine those players medically and offer them contracts,” Sarfo Duku said at the post-match press conference of the Kotoko win over Save African Child on Sunday.

He continued, “But for now the coach hasn’t said anything and so we still have to wait for him to so.”

The former Ghana Black Stars skipper who sat beside Sarfo Duku at the Babayara press conference room welcome Duku’s declaration with a smile of happiness.

Abass Mohammed, Naby Keita Laye are some of the players that have to impress Akonnor if they are to win contracts with the club.
