The head coach for the Black Stars of Ghana, C.K Akonnor has given his assessment on his first two matches against Mali and Qatar.

The tactician was appointed as the new head coach for the senior national team of the West African country earlier this year in January to replace Coach James Kwesi Appiah.

Last Friday, the coach played his first match against Mali but saw his Black Stars team losing 3-0.

Subsequently, on Monday, Coach C.K Akonnor took charge of his second match where Ghana posted an emphatic 5-1 win against Qatar.

In an interview with the communications team of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), the gaffer has given his assessment of both games.

“Well I think, one game was down to poor performance, a team that was not organized and the way of playing was poor.

“We didn’t look like we were ready, and the other match that was well organized in terms of keeping the team shape and not allowing the opponent to play and not giving them too much space, which we did with a very understanding, communication was there, we were ready every giving moment and as a result of that the opponent found it difficult to function very, very well, we had our chances and we scored”, the coach shared.

Coach Akonnor will now brace himself for an Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Sudan.
