Salis Abdul Samed is happy with the way his coach Franck Haise manages the team. Samed added that Franck Haise coaching style suits him very well.

On 24 June 2022, Abdul Samed signed for Lens in a transfer worth a reported €5 million. He signed a five-year contract with the club.

This season Salis Abdul Samed has made 16 appearances and scored one goal in Ligue 1 for RC Lens.

“I'm more defensive even if sometimes I go up. I listen to the coach who asks me for defense to leave Seko more offensive. I feel good because that's where I want to play. It's Salis, a "6", he defends, he helps the attack, he tries to recover the balls, he gives to others," he said.

"The coach gave me confidence, he left me free. He just talks to us at the hotel before the games, he gives us the team, what we have to do and then he doesn't talk anymore.

"In the locker room, nothing, then at half-time, he shows us three actions, period. It suits me well, a coach like that, who sets the frame and leaves the player free. It's play your football, if you don't do what he asks, you go out,"

The former Clermont Foot midfielder was a member of the Black Stars team that finished bottom of Group H at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
