Coach Fuseini Abubakari who guided Bofoakwa Tano to the top flight has stated that he is disappointed he won't be in the dugout managing his lads.

According to him, his current coaching credentials don't meet the Ghana Premier League requirements.

Bofoakwa Tano made a triumphant return to the Ghana Premier League after spending over a decade outside the top flight.

In a tense playoff match held on Tuesday at the Accra Sports Stadium, Bofoakwa defeated Techiman Eleven Wonders to secure their promotion.

The match ended 1-1 after regulation time, leading to a nail-biting penalty shootout. Bofoakwa emerged victorious, winning 7-6 in the shootout, and thus clinched their spot in the prestigious Ghana Premier League.

Speaking to Joy Sports he has pleaded with the Ghana FA to speed things up for coaches to do the License A course.

“It is very disappointing to qualify with the club and not continue at the Premier [League] level. You will feel [the disappointment,” he said.

“That is the rules of Club Licensing but we are pleading with them to speed up things for us to give us the opportunity to go and do the License A Course so we can get that opportunity to sit in the dugout for the Premier League matches,”

“I have a lot to do in the team because, the philosophy we used to qualify, if any coach comes in I don’t know if he will continue with it. I don’t think he will use those players there [currently]. He will definitely blend the old and new, which is also not easy,”

“I wish I will play a part in the team,” he ended.

Bofoakwa Tano joins Heart of Lions and Nations FC for next season’s Ghana Premier League campaign.
