Veteran Ghanaian coach J.E Sarpong believes Otumfuo’s decision to ban player recruitment at Asante Kotoko will bring the best out of Maxwell Konadu.

The Porcupine Warriors will not have new players for the season if domestic football returns following the directive to the new Board was issued by the owner of Kotoko, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

Coach Sarpong supports Otumfuo's decision and claims this will bring out the experience in coach Maxwell Konadu.

"Kotoko registered more than necessary players because I don’t know the figure but I learnt it is around fifty players or something and how many is selected for a game?

"It’s only eighteen and the rest from the eighteen what are they doing that’s why in Europe they register not more than 25 players," he told Starr Sports.

"Every year they buy so many players and they are all on salary but they won’t even use them so it all comes at a huge disadvantage to the club financially so for me I support the call by Otumfuo to place a ban on player recruitment for at least one season.

"The good thing about this whole decision too is that it will always bring out the experience in coach Maxwell Konadu," he added Sarpong added.
