Coach Kwesi Appiah wants under-17 players monitored for future Black Stars team

Head Coach of the national team Kwesi Appiah says he wants players of the national under-17 team, the Black Starlets monitored for the future.

The Black Starlets were runners up at the just ended Africa Junior Championship in Gabon where they lost to Mali in the final.

 

The Black Starlets despite losing the ultimate qualified for the world cup in India later this year and Coach Kwesi Appiah has asked the coach of the Black Starlets, Paa Kwesi Fabin to do a proper postmortem ahead of the mundial.

 

“The tournament is over but a bigger one awaits them, it is now left to the coach to sit down and analyze all the games and correct the lapses as he prepares for the ultimate,” he told reporters.

 

Meanwhile, the former Khartoum coach is impressed by the talents of the under -17 boys and want them monitored for the national team in future.

“They are young players and it is important to keep monitoring them. They could be our long term hope for the national team.

 

He also asked for support for Coach Paa Kwesi Fabin as he prepares ahead of the world cup in India.

“Sometimes it is difficult to just sit back and think for the coach especially, when you are not with them during their training sessions. Let us allow the coach some space to do his best,” he added.
