Coaching in GPL next season not part of my plans – Samuel Boadu

Former Hearts of Oak coach Samuel Boadu says he is not sure if he will return to the dugout to lead a club in the upcoming Ghana Premier League campaign.

Boadu has been without a club since parting ways with Hearts of Oak in September 2022 following an unimpressive result.

The Ghana U20 was reported to have joined lower-tier club Cornerstone ahead of the new season but Boadu swiftly denied and entreated the public to treat it with the needed contempt it deserves.

Speaking to Footballghana.com, the former Ghana Premier League winner disclosed he has no plans to lead a club in the upcoming season.

When asked about the possibility of returning to the dugout ahead of next GPL season, Boadu said, “Not really, I have not plan for that. I’m still a national team coach, I don’t know what will happen but then, I’m waiting for one or two things”

During his time with Hearts of Oak, he achieved remarkable success, winning the Premier League title, the MTN FA Cup twice, the President Cup, and the Ghana Super Cup. However, a disappointing start to the previous season led to the termination of his contract.

Following his departure from Hearts of Oak, Boadu served as the head coach of the Black Satellites, leading the team to the WAFU Zone B Boys Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, where they exited the competition in the group stage.
