Kurt Okraku, President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has strongly defended the state of colts football in the country, dismissing criticism from skeptics.

Speaking at a media briefing in Kumasi addressing various football-related matters, Okraku addressed concerns regarding the state of football development in Ghana, particularly focusing on the status of colts football.

Acknowledging the recent disappointment following the Black Stars' performance at a major competition, Okraku emphasized the resilience and vitality of colts football in Ghana.

“Overtime, we have brought back colts football to lovers of colts in this country. Currently, colts football is being played in all our 10 [football] regions. In every region of this country, colts football is being played.

“In the Ashanti Region, we have 194 active colts clubs. In the Brong Ahafo Region, we have 178 colts clubs, in the Central Region, 120, Eastern, 165, the Greater Accra Region, 327.

“The FA will continue to support colts football in the regions with the provision of trophies and medals for all our leagues in the country.”

Furthermore, Okraku pledged continued support for colts football initiatives, promising the provision of trophies and medals for leagues across the country.

Additionally, he announced that the GFA had secured a significant investment of $100,000 to procure footballs for distribution to colts clubs, demonstrating the Association's commitment to nurturing grassroots football talent.
