Comments about female sports journalists on Onua TV distasteful and demeaning - SWAG

Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) has urged its female members to remain calm as the association deals with the unsavory comments made by a presenter on Onua TV.

The Onua TV presenter urged the Ghana Football Association to stop female journalists from following and covering the senior national team Black Stars among other comments.

The segment has seen gone viral on social media and Ghanaians have slammed the Onua TV presenter. They urged his employer to make the presenter render an unqualified apology to all female sports journalists in the country.

SWAG in a statement published on 8th December called the comments unfortunate and dehumanizing to all female sports journalists in the country.

SWAG said no female sports journalist acted in an unprofessional or in compromise as the distasteful comments suggested.

SWAG went further to state that they have begun an immediate engagement with Media General who is the parent company of Onua TV and the said presenter.
