A computer scientist has released pictures of what a redevelopment of Chelsea's Stamford Bridge could look like in the future.

The pictures, released onYahoo Sport, show Neil Vano's interpretation of what Chelsea's home could look like after its redevelopment. The club have submitted plans for their vision of the new and improvedsouth west London stadium, with a consultation period with local residents having closed last month.

Should they be given the go-ahead, the club are hoping to reconstruct their current home and rebuild a 60,000 seatarea in its place. The project is estimated to cost around £500m, with Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich eager to leave his mark in London.

The images come ahead of Chelsea's London derby with Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, who themselves have already begun construction on their new stadium. Parts of the ground have been pulled apart, with the club hoping to move into the arena at the beginning of the 2018-19 season.

Chelsea on the other hand are hoping to move in to their new potential home in the summer of 2020. However, the club are still reliant on theHammersmith and Fulham London Borough Council granting planning permission.

A recentChelsea Supporters Trust statementclaimed fans were happy with the news of the redevelopment, but warned against repeating the same mistakes that West Ham have made during their move to the London Stadium.

"The Chelsea Supporters' Trust are delighted that the plans for the new stadium seem to be progressing well and that there were satisfactory responses to many of the concerns and issues that supporters have raised.

"However, the recent issues with the transition of West Ham United from the Boleyn Ground to the London Stadium serve as a timely reminder about potential problems when moving stadium and increasing capacity."
