Coach Samuel Boadu has joined Ghana Premier League powerhouse, Hearts of Oak as the club’s new head coach on a three-year deal, officials have confirmed.
The enterprising gaffer parted ways with Medeama SC last week which generated a lot of discussion in the local media.
The Phobians have been without a substantive gaffer following the departure of Kosta Papic.
Under-15s coach Samuel Nii Noi took over the club has won two and led the side to secure a point against Asante Kotoko on Sunday.
This means Nii Noi's job as the interim coach has ended.
“He is officially starting work on Monday the 1st of March.
"We signed him for three years and is coming with his own assistant,” Hearts Board member Alhaji Braimah Akanbi relayed to reporters after the 0-0 draw against Kotoko on Sunday.
Boadu is widely tipped to bring in his 28-year-old trusted righthand man Hamza Obeng from Medeama as a first assistant coach.
A visit to WAFA in the coming weekend will be Boadu’s first match as Hearts of Oak head coach.
Meanwhile, the new-look Hearts of Oak technical team is expected to include returnees W.O 1 Paul Tandoh and Ben Adjei as Physical Trainer and Welfare Officer/Team Manager respectively.
It is unclear if ex-Ghana international Richard Kingson – who has been training the Hearts keepers since the resignation of Ben Owu – will take up a permanent appointment due to his engagement with lower-tier side Emmanuel FC.
