Confusion rocks at Raphael Dwamena’s final funeral rites as family clashes

The final funeral rites of former Black Stars striker Raphael Dwamena has been disrupted as family clashes.

His funeral service is currently underway at the Adjiriganor Astro Turf in Accra, the capital of Ghana.

But according to Onua Sports, confusion has erupted between his paternal and maternal families. A standoff at Transitions Funeral Homes where the body was being kept has ensued, causing tension and uncertainty among mourners.

Efforts to resolve the issue are reportedly underway, with mediators attempting to broker a peaceful resolution between the two sides.

Dwamena passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2023, after collapsing on the football pitch while in action for KF Egnatia against KF Partizani in the Albanian top-flight.

The forward lasted collapsed on the 23rd minute, despite immediate medical attention, he joined his maker.

He made 9 appearances for the Black Stars of Ghana since making his debut in 2017 and scored two goals in the process.

Dwamena's career suffered various setbacks after he was first detected to have a heart problem in 2017.

He featured for a host of clubs, including FC Zurich, Levante, Real Zaragoza and others.
