The 2019/20 Ghana Premier League will see 18 clubs compete each other for the ultimate after Congress agreed to amend its statutes by increasing its numbers to 124.

This decision was made during Thursday’s Ordinary Congress where the clubs voted to have two additional teams for the top-flight.

Great Olympics and King Faisal have already been reinstated for the upcoming season which kicks off on the weekend of December 27-29.

The amendment means that the decision will be permanent hence the domestic top-flight will be played by 18 for the first time instead of the initial 16.

Also three teams will be relegated at the end of the season instead of five.

This format will see the participation teams increase in Premier League.
