Vice Chairman for Ghana League Club Association Alex Ackumey has called on the fans of Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts to consider the money they paid for the Postponed President Cup match as a form of contribution to their clubs.

The President Cup clash between Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak was called off due to the poor state of the Baba Yara Sports Stadium after a heavy downpour.

The game lasted for just 8 minutes after kickoff and will be replyed at a later date.

Fans of both clubs have since registered their displeasure to the organizers of the game and also accused them of cheating.

But Speaking to Nhyira FM Sports this morning, Vice President of GHALCA Alex Ackumey described the situation as unfortunate. He also pleaded the fans of the club to consider the money paid as a form of contribution to the club.

“For the Supporters of both AsanteKotoko and Hearts of Oak, they should consider it as a form of contribution to their clubs. It’s unfortunate the game got halted and postponed afterwards”

The Management of New Edubiase FC also hinted the replay might come on in October.

“The replay will come on but we are yet to set a date. It may be early October. We want Asante Kotoko to finish playing their double header against Etoile du Sahel”

Asante Kotoko will face Tunisian giant Etoile Du Sahel on Sunday September 15 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
