Constantly unused Ghana defender Philemon Baffour to miss upcoming Nigeria tie

Portugal-based defender, Philemon Baffour has been ruled out of Ghana’s upcoming clash with Nigeria in the qualifiers to the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament.

The former Dreams FC man has in the past year been a regular in the Black Stars team although he has never featured in any competitive game.

Currently in Portugal where he has signed for Rio Ave, Philemon Baffour has sustained an injury and hence is not available for selection in the next assignment of the Ghana national team.

According to information gathered, the defender will this week undergo a toe injury that should see him sidelined for a few weeks.

As a result, the Black Stars will go into the final round of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers without the player.

Ghana will take on Nigeria on March 25, before travelling to Abuja for the second leg of the encounter on March 29.

The winner at the end of the two-legged clash will earn the right to play at the 2022 FIFA World Cup scheduled to be played in Qatar.
