Birmingham City fell to a fifth straight Championship defeat at Nottingham Forest

Birmingham City manager Steve Cotterill says he has "gone past" fearing for his job as speculation surrounds his future in charge of the Championship club.

Cotterill's Blues fell to a fifth consecutive defeat as they lost 2-1 at Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

Out-of-work managers, including former Leeds boss Garry Monk, have been linked as a replacement at St Andrew's.

"If that's been going on behind my back, it's best for them to get on with it," Cotterill told BBC WM 95.6.

Defeat at Forest came after a week in which Cotterill met with club chairman Zhao Wenqing, who gave his ongoing support amid criticism from fans on social media.

"I think I've gone past fearing for my job," said Cotterill. "My side have supported me unbelievably today.

"What I've learned is you can't judge other people by your own standards.

"I've stayed professional throughout, worked extremely hard in the time I've been at this football club and will continue to do so if I'm still here."

Cotterill was appointed manager at St Andrew's in September following Harry Redknapp's dismissal and has won just six league games since.

Blues are 22nd in the Championship, two points adrift of safety with 11 games remaining.
