The Executive Committee of the Gabonese Football Federation has taken the decision to cancel the 2019/2020 football season as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic.
The Gabonese top-flight league, as well as all other football competitions, have been on suspension since the middle of March due to the situation of the Covid-19 situation.
After months of deliberations, the Executive Committee of the country’s football governing body held a meeting on Thursday to decide the fate of the season.
The meeting which took place in Owendo finished with the Gabonese Football Federation agreeing that the best decision is to cancel the season.
There will be no champion for the Gabonese National Championship and there will be no relegated teams as well.
Meanwhile, Bouenguidi Sport and AS Mangasport will represent Gabon in the next edition of the CAF Champions League and Confederations Cup respectively.
