Covid-19: GFA financial committee to come out with modalities to share FIFA relief fund

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has tasked its finance committee to come up with modalities that will be used to share the incoming FIFA Covid-19 relief fund.

The country’s football governing body is expected to receive a sum of $1.5 million from the World Football governing body to be used to alleviate financial challenges presented by the Coronavirus crisis.

According to GFA Executive Member Frederick Acheampong, the association has tasked its finance committee to develop a plan for sharing the cash.

“FIFA will pay $500,000 to us this July 2020 and another $500,000 in January 2021 but the $500,000 for women Football is also expected this July 2020”, the former Ashanti Gold CEO told Oyerepa FM.

He added, “The Finance Committee has been tasked to come out with modalities of sharing this money per FIFA’S conditions and those who are eligible to benefit.

“This relief fund includes National Teams as well as Clubs, referees, coaches, Juvenile Football”.
