Nike have commemorated Cristiano Ronaldo's fantastic year by releasing limited edition football boots in honour of the Ballon d'Or winner.

The 31-year-old held off competition from the likes of Lionel Messi, Antoine Griezmann and Luis Suarez to pick up his fourth Ballon d'Or, now just one behind leader Lionel Messi. Kit giants Nike have celebrated the win for Ronaldo, releasing 777 pairs of Mercurial Superfly CR7 'Vitorias'.

Ronaldo played his part in historic competition wins for club and country this summer, leading Real Madrid to another Champions League title while Portugal also won their first ever major competition with Euro 2016, despite Ronaldo limping out of the final with an injury.

I never imagined winning this trophy four times. I'm really happy and fulfilled," Ronaldo said, as quoted bythe Sun.

I have the opportunity to thank all of my team-mates, the national team, Real Madrid, all of the people who helped me to win this individual award."

Ronaldo will hopefully have the chance to strut his stuff in the limited edition boots during Real Madrid's Club World Cup campaign, which kicks off on Thursday with a game against Mexican side America.
