Cristiano Ronaldo ended his La Liga scoring drought to lead Real Madrid to a hard fought 3-2 win against Malaga.

Ronaldo had not scored in La Liga since a strike against Getafe on Oct. 14 but his 76th-minute effort was enough to earn Zinedine Zidane's side three important points as they attempt to chase down league leaders Barcelona.

Karim Benzema gave Madrid a ninth-minute lead at the Bernabeu, but it was short-lived with Diego Rolan pulling Malaga level less than 10 minutes later.

Casemiro then had the hosts back in front on 21 minutes before Chory Castro again pulled Malaga back on level terms.

But Ronaldo's effort late in the second half was enough to secure the points for Madrid and put them within seven points of Barca ahead of their game against Valencia on Sunday.
