Croatian duo set to start for Inter against Torino

Ivan Perisic and Sime Vrsaljko are expected to start for Inter this Sunday when they welcome Torino to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

The duo starred for Croatia during their run to the World Cup final, and as a result of their extended summer, coach Luciano Spalletti opted not to insert them into his starting XI for their season opener against Sassuolo.

While Perisic was brought on at half-time during the 1-0 defeat, Vrsaljko sat on the bench for the 90 minutes.

That is expected to change this Sunday against Torino, as La Gazzetta dello Sport reports both will start the encounter.

Kwadwo Asamoah will likely be pushed to left-back, with Dalbert relegated to the bench, along with Danilo D’Ambrosio.

Milan Skriniar is expected to partner Stefan de Vrij after missing out against Sassuolo, while Radja Nainggolan’s return to training on Wednesday has increased his chances of making an appearance.

Inter’s predicted starting XI: Handanovic; Vrsaljko, De Vrij, Skriniar, Asamoah; Brozovic, Vecino; Politano, Martinez, Perisic; Icardi
