AC Milan are on the verge of signing attacking midfielder Alen Halilovic from relegated Bundesliga side Hamburg.
The former Dinamo Zagreb and Barcelona man was among the most talked about youngsters in world football when he signed for the Catalan giants as a teenager.
According to various sources in the peninsula, the 22 year-old is due in Milan for his medical with the Rossoneri, despite Sportitalia also suggesting that Udinese were close to the Croatian.
Having exploded onto the scene since making his debut at 16 with Zagreb, Halilovic struggled to adapt to life at the highest level prompting a timely switch to Hamburg.
Further concerns were raised when the German side allowed Halilovic to join Las Palmas on a two year loan, who themselves were relegated last season.
Milan fans will be hoping Halilovic can rediscover the promise of his earlier years should the transfer be completed as expected.
