Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson is confident that Yohan Cabaye will be staying put at Selhurst Park.

With Cabaye's contract at Palace set to expire at the end of the current campaign, there is widespread reports that he could be leaving Selhurst Park in January but Hodgson has insisted that the Frenchman is not going anywhere this winter.

Hodgson said: "There's no doubt he is one of the players going forward that I would put in that group of who I think is a bona fide quality Premier League player that can help keep us in the league and that group needs help by being boosted, it doesn't need pruning down in any way.

"The ones I talk about [regarding January] is on the basis of trying to make the squad stronger, but I am pretty sure that he won't go anywhere this season.

"But I can't allow my energy or my enthusiasm for the job to be dented in any way by what might happen in the future. I leave that to the powers be to take that longer term vision, because I have to think short term at the moment and staying in this league; I can't think about anything beyond this 2017/18 season."
