Crystal Palace boss Sam Allardyce insists they can be proud of their relegation escape.

Allardyce saw his side ensure their survival last Sunday with a 4-0 win at home against Hull City, meaning the south Londoners can now prepare for a fifth consecutive season in the top flight.

"It's been great because I've been back in football," he said.

"Steve [Parish] gave us a chance to come and save Palace and we've both got what we wanted. I've got back in the game and shown the fact that I've worked hard with the backroom staff and the support staff and the owners, and we've all pulled it together in a short period of time and been successful and that puts the past in the past.

"You can look and move on with your life and say 'look what's happened at Crystal Palace' and what can be built for next year. So look in the future and not in the past because you can't affect the past anymore."
