Crystal Palace forward Jordan Ayew has explained why he barely puts a smile on his face.
The 31-year-old says it is not because he is angry with anyone but it is how he maintains his focus during football games.
The Ghana star is one of the players that it is difficult to see him smile whether on the pitch or off it.
Speaking to Crystal Palace media team, Jordan Ayew said trying to put a smile on his face “is something I am trying to work on. My mum and my aunties, it’s something that they complain about; cheer up, enjoy life, you are doing a wonderful job.
“Well, obviously I am on the pitch. I can’t really smile when I am on the pitch because I am working. It is hard for me to smile.
“It is something that I am really working on, it does not mean that I am not happy or I am angry with someone. It is just my way of focusing for the game and when I am into the game there’s nothing else I am thinking about.”
