The Eagles have had an ongoing interest in the Bristol City striker since 2017 when they extended an academy contract offer to him while he was still a student at SGS College, but he chose the Robins instead.

Dougie Freedman, the sporting director, has been keeping a close watch on the Ghanaian's development for at least the past two years.

Due to Semenyo's shin injury, Crystal Palace decided against making a bid in the summer. Last week, Bournemouth submitted two offers, the second of which exceeded £10 million but fell short of City's estimated value of around £15 million.
