Crystal Palace striker Christian Benteke was delighted to score in their 3-0 rout of Leicester City.

A week after defying manager Roy Hodgson's orders to take - and miss - a penalty, Benteke netted the opener on Saturday.

He said afterwards: “I think today's win shows we are in a good shape and this afternoon gave a focussed performance and really deserved the three points.

“It has been frustrating situation with the players we have got, the fact that we couldn't score away has been a tough situation for us but today we showed we are a quality side and that is the way we need to keep it.

“As a striker people ask you just to score and these past weeks I have been really frustrated about not scoring goals but also I have been working hard and today I think I deserved that goal and I am obviously really pleased about that."
