Ghana Black Galaxies head coach, Annor Walker has stressed the importance of Hearts of Oak striker Daniel Afriyie Barnieh to his team.
The forward was in action for the Black Galaxies on Thursday night when Ghana faced off with Sudan in the second Group C match of the 2022 Champions of African Nations (CHAN) tournament.
In game where Daniel Afriyie Barnieh would score for Ghana in the 3-1 win, he was given a red card and could not play the entire contest.
Speaking in a post-match interview, Coach Annor Walker lamented the red card, insisting that the striker is one of his top attackers.
“It’s unfortunate Afriyie got the red card. He’s one of my top strikers. But I came with 25 players so I will have a replacement to play in the quarterfinals stage and after that he can be in action,” Coach Annor Walker said.
Following the 3-1 win against Sudan, Ghana will go through to the knockout stage of the tournament.
