Daniel Amartey plays in Leicester City’s opening day defeat to Hull City

Ghanaian defender Daniel Anartey came off the bench for Andy King in his side's 2-1 to defeat to Hull City in the Premier League.

Amartey came on in the 68th minute and was used as a holding midfielder, a position he is noted for.

Hull took the lead when Abel Hernandez and Adama Diomande both had a claim on the goal, as they went for an overhead kick together after Kasper Schmeichel had clawed out a Curtis Davies header from Robert Snodgrass’ corner.

Riyad Mahrez equalized from the spot but Snodgrass drove Hull back into the lead from 20 yards when Danny Simpson cleared Ahmed Elmohamady’s right-wing cross into his path

By virtue of the score line Leicester City has become the first reigning Premier League champions to lose their opening fixture of the following season.
