Daniel-Kofi Kyereh to undergo surgery after rupturing cruciate ligament during training

Ghana international, Daniel-Kofi Kyereh has twisted his knee in training according to his club, SC Freiburg.

The German Bundesliga club on Friday released a statement confirming that the talented midfielder will be sidelined for the rest of the 2022/23 football season.

The statement noted that in the next few days, Daniel-Kofi Kyereh will undergo surgery to address his cruciate ligament rupture.

Kofi Kyereh tore his cruciate ligament in training and will be out for the rest of the season.

"In Thursday's training, Kofi Kyereh twisted his knee in a duel. An examination in the Freiburg University Hospital resulted in the diagnosis of a cruciate ligament rupture. An operation is to follow in the next few days,” SC Freiburg said in a statement.

The statement added, “The attacking player will no longer be available this season.

“We wish Kofi a successful surgery and a speedy recovery!”

The Black Stars midfielder will now hope to recover and return from injury a stronger player.
